Combat the winter chills with our stylish thrills

Warm in Winter

Now that the cooler months have descended upon us, it is the perfect time to look for those stylish home touches that will help to combat the winter blues

Key for keeping one snug as a bug in a rug, is, well, a gorgeous throw rug! We have a number of choices to tickle all tastes, such as an Angora Wide rib blanket from Bemboka, a classic style to add comfort and a touch of texture to any space.
Or, for those who favour a more luxe look, the Darcy & Duke velvet throw, available in a variety of gorgeous jewel tones, is one that cannot be ignored.

Nothing helps make the chilly mornings (days & nights too of course) all the more bearable than a fluffy white robe. Our pick is the Assos hand loomed white robe, which is a modern take on the traditional with its blue trim and tassles.
And most importantly, it only gets more soft and comfy with wash & wear, so chances are it will become your new best friend.

As most of us tend to go into hibernation mode due to the dropping temps and rain, this is also the time to make our living spaces a little more inviting with some new accessories.
If you a lucky enough to have a wood burning fireplace (although an electric heater from Kmart will also do the trick), why not dress it up with the seriously sexy reindeer hides from Inartisan.
It is the perfect touchable talking point to any space, and perfect for those nights for when one just wants to ‘Netflix & chill'!

2017 Boathouse fair done and dusted.

Another successful year at Mobys!

The weather was amazing and we really couldn't have asked for more people to pop in!
Great meeting couples and lots of lovely mums! Also great sipping champagne and tasting the amazing menu from Moby Dicks.
Looking forward to next year already.

We have your Sunday plans sorted.....

Needing some styling inspiration for your upcoming nuptials?

Or perhaps needing an excuse for a Sunday spent with your special someone, with some tasty treats, drinks and tunes to boot?
Well look no further than The Boathouse Wedding + Events Fair!

Held Sunday the 25th June at Moby Dicks overlooking the stunning Whale Beach. Do not miss the opportunity to meet with a variety of vendors presenting their wares, most notably The Wedding Nest team of course.
Belle Magazine stylist, Olga Lewis has been enlisted to showcase a selection of our most loved brands that will make your ‘I do’ all the more delightful.

Featured will be the carefully curated ceramics of both Robert Gordon and Mud Australia. The combination of traditional techniques, modern style and a variety of colour palettes to suit all interiors ensure these to be a fantastic addition to any newlyweds abode.
Also sure to grab your attention will be the cushion collection on show from our favourite purveyor of pillows, Bonnie and Neil. Their love of all things bright, botanical and beautiful are sure to capture the eye, and are the perfect styling ‘exclamation point’ to feature in any space.
Samples of our soft furnishing brands will also be on hand to tantilise our textile lovers. Kate & Kate’s signature style of impactful prints and irresistibly touchable materials make these blankets a beautifully practical feature in all areas of the house, whilst Hale Mercantile Co’s earth toned linens will add a touch of luxury to any couples bed, bath and beyond!

Hope to see you there x

Garden Delight

It was a chance meeting between two young Sydney siders, living it up on the other side of the pond, that culminated in the fabulous celebration that was Jonathon and Charlotte’s nuptials.
The location for the ceremony was the picturesque Centennial Park, a space abundant with family, friends, flowers and perhaps a few nerves. This was a particularly special nuptials for The Wedding Nest, as it was one of our Brothers being Married.
The groom and his respective groomsmen struck a very dapper look in their Oscar Hunt suits, the bridesmaids khaki Camilla and Marc Ensembles a perfect compliment to the lush surrounds.

The bride stunned in an effortlessly chic Sarah Seven gown, paired with an intricately detailed Theai Couture Veil, again mimicking the floral setting. The brides beautiful smile as she walked down the aisle was enough to bring a tear to any stander by, however perhaps her best accessory was the ever so subtle showing of baby bump.

The pair shared personal vows, promising to support, appreciate and build a family together, with Jonathan also vowing very importantly to always help Charlotte when she lost her mobile phone. A critical requirement for the modern bride!

Whilst the bridal party were capturing memories on film, the guests were greeted by flowing champagne and canapés under the fairy lights at the reception, Centennial Homestead.
Some of the many highlights of the reception were the gut busting speeches made by the couples nearest and dearest, the delicious family style meals enjoyed by guests, a heaving dance floor being dominated by the young and young at heart alike, and of course the announcement of the impending arrival of the newly married couples little girl!

Congratulations from the team at The Wedding Nest!

Yes you do! But you might just not know it yet……..

At the Wedding Nest our gift range includes not only the registry basics, but also wedding gifts not available on other bridal registries – stunning homewares and statement furniture pieces – all collated by interior design style.

But for some people identifying that ‘style’ is not so easy.

So to help with this, The Wedding Nest collates our sourced pieces into four must-have style categories - French, Contemporary, Eclectic and Beach.

Still not sure which you prefer? Review the descriptions below and view each style range online by clicking on the title :

French ( – the style where less is more, and often a mix of old and new pieces. Linen is a preferred fabric and generally kept in neutral or muted tones.

Contemporary ( - uses simple clean lines, neutrals with pops of colour, open space, unadorned floors and minimal accessories, often with high impact pieces of furniture or artwork.

Eclectic ( – is all about breaking ‘the rules’! Think mismatched pieces, layered textures, and unexpected accents, but all tied together through repetition of colour and shape.

Beach ( – Whites, blues and all things natural depicts coastal style. Cotton fabrics, pale timbers, woven baskets and marine themed décor are commonly used.

And don’t forget, we love to help. So please contact us for any assistance, whether it be with selecting your style, picking certain pieces, or even styling your home…….
