Lighting

Sometimes standard overhead room lighting won't cut it for an event in
terms of creating a particular ambiance. Lighting should beautify a space,
keep the area safe for attendees, and let guests be able to clearly see
what they're doing. Laboda Styling & Events offers a variety of
lighting options that can help add extra touches of illumination where you
want it, whether outdoors along a fence or indoors on a table.

There are so many reasons we love lanterns, and we offer several options that can complement almost any space in which you put them. You'll find them in a variety of shapes and sizes, including cylindrical ones, so you can choose what would work best in the room or area you're decorating. Most of our lanterns have dual display possibilities, allowing you to hang them up or put them on a flat surface (depending, of course, on what material that surface consists of).

Because many of our lanterns are fragile and composed of glass, it's important to display and store them properly to prevent damage. For example, when hanging them, make sure they're stable and secure to keep them from falling and hurting someone, and they should also be at a height where there's no chance anyone could accidentally walk into them. Additionally, set them far enough apart from each other and any other items so they don't clank together. When you're displaying lanterns on a flat surface, you still want to keep them away from other items and each other to prevent them from accidentally sliding or clanking and potentially getting damaged.

Before putting the lanterns into storage, always double-check that they have no removable batteries, such as AAAs. If they do, remove them beforehand to prevent corrosion and damage. Use cushioned packing, like bubble wrap and boxes, to ensure that each lantern is properly wrapped. Put all the lanterns in a sturdy box and label it so you know its contents next time you need to locate the exquisite lighting options.

Rope lights are yet another lighting option that we're obsessed with. Battery-operated, they're incredibly versatile and can hang on, above, and around a multitude of surfaces. Outdoors, you could wrap them around trees and shrubbery, put them around handrails, and hang them from arbours. Once the outdoor event finishes, it's easy to remove the lights and bring them inside.

To use the rope lights as interior decor, you can hang them from curtains, wrap them around windows and handrails, put them along the ceiling of a room, or use them to line doorways. Depending on their structure, you can also consider incorporating them into centrepieces, putting them in clear glass containers, wrapping them around large faux or real decorative branches, or combining them with large faux or real plants. If possible, situate the battery pack so it's not visible.

When you're storing rope lights, it's important to do so properly to prevent them from getting damaged, and it starts by removing the batteries. Make sure there are no tangles or kinks in the line and that there's no way they can become entangled if the box shifts or moves around while in storage. Consider wrapping them carefully around a large spool or a piece of cardboard so they stay in position and won't come unravelled.

For safety purposes, don't put rope lights anywhere children or pets can get a hold of them. You also want to put them in spots where no fire damage could occur, secure them properly to prevent any accidents, and situate them in areas where no one can trip on them.
